About
Dr. Reuter received his medical degree and research doctorate from Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz/Germany. In July of 1988, he moved to England, where he worked in the Department for Orthopaedic Surgery at the James Paget Hospital in Great Yarmouth.
After publishing his first book in early 1989, Dr. Reuter co-founded a medical magazine for students and contributed to other publications. However, his primary focus was soon on compiling medical, dental, and scientific dictionaries and databases for print and digital publications.
In 1998, Dr. Reuter moved to Florida and founded Reuter Medical Inc., a medical and scientific reference publishing company. Overall, he compiled, published, edited, or contributed to more than 100 dictionaries and other publications that have been published in six languages and 19 countries.
However, the company's focus evolved starting in 2012 from developing and preparing content to include the production of textbooks for students in the health/medical sciences and beyond.
In 2010, Dr. Reuter set out to fulfill his life-long ambition to teach at a university and to help students achieve their dream of becoming health professionals. He loved teaching undergraduate and graduate courses at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) and tried to inspire students to push themselves to success when courses became more challenging. After retiring from his full-time faculty position in early 2024, Dr. Reuter continues to teach part-time as adjunct professor.
He also created an impressive research portfolio, often working with undergraduate and graduate students. For more on this, go to Research.
